Limbic System 3D Module

The 3D Limbic Module was created as an optimal visual reference of the limbic system. With the expertise of Dennis Burns, M.D., professor of neuropathology at UTSouthwestern, this module was created with anatomical accuracy. Medical students at UT Southwestern are now able to interactively rotate a 3D brain model containing limbic structures on all axes to help them visualize the complexity of limbic anatomy for their Neuroscience course.

It contains three views of the brain: one with the full cortex overlay for reference within the entire brain, one with half cortex for a better view of the limbic structures with reference to the brain, and one with no cortex. Each limbic structure is color coded with a color map, several labeled pictures are available to view, and the Neuroscience course material is divided into clear sections to explain the complexity of the limbic system function and anatomy.
