Mediscuro's artwork and animation has been used in several publications including McGraw-Hill Medical for the Ob/Gyn website collection, Yamanda's Textbook of Gastroenterology, and several medical case reports.

Awards

2013 Dean's Excellence Award Recipient for DIEP (Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator) Flap Breast Reconstruction Surgery Illustration and Orthoptera Tettigoniidae: Long-horned Grasshopper Biological Illustration.

Mediscuro's History

Mediscuro’s lead illustrator and founder, Nicholas Mayeux, began his profession by obtaining a Bachelor of Arts in Painting at the University of Dallas in 2010. Through his passion for the medical field and artist nature, he later acquired a Master of Arts in Biomedical Communications from University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2013. During the program, he gained much expertise in the Medical Illustration field, completing a demanding curriculum with anatomy and other biological courses alongside medical students. He also completed many traditional illustration, digital art, and multimedia design courses. While training in the field of visual communication, he obtained valuable experience collaborating with doctors, surgeons, scientists, and peers on a variety of projects.

Mediscuro presently resides in the Houston area, where they continue to create visually dynamic artwork and multimedia.
